LAMA Awards Nomination and Submission Process
Nomination Process
We have simplified the nomination process, as well as the nomination form for the LAMA Awards 2012 in association with IPB. All councillors will receive a nomination form in hard copy as well as in soft copy if their email address is available on our database, as well as a letter explaining the new nomination process and new categories.
What is included in the Nomination Form
1. A section requesting the nominating Councillors’ contact details.
2. A section for all National Project category nominations, with spaces for the contact details of the nominted projects.
3. A section for all Community Project category nominations, with spaces for the contact details of the nominated projects.
Councillors are free to nominate as many projects as the wish. To ensure that a region is well represented at the Awards ceremony, we recommend that a councillor nominate as many projects as possible in the different categories.
Submission Process
We have revised the submission process for 2012 by creating category-specific submission forms. In the 2011 LAMA Awards, nominated projects were asked to provide details within four grading categories, but were not given additional guidelines. The 2012 submission forms are very clear, and include spaces for more specific questions related to the entry being put forward for an award.
Through creating submission forms we are ensuring that all nominated projects will have an even playing ground, as the details supplied for each nominated project will be standardized. The submission forms also provide more detail about the judging process, and indicate how each project will be awarded a grade.
In order to better gauge how many submissions we will have in each entry, we have changed the submission process for 2012 to now include 2 steps. As soon as a project is nominated by a councillor, the contact for the nominated project will be sent their submission form so that we will have a better idea as to how many submissions will come in for each category.
What is included in the Submission Form
1. A confirmation of submission, which asks for a confirmation that the nominated project will enter a submission into the Awards. This section includes contact details of the person submitting an entry, and must be sent in within 1 week of being notified of their nomination.
2. If a project confirms they will be submitting an entry into the LAMA Awards, they will then have 3 weeks to complete a detailed submission form, which includes all relevant contact details for individuals involved in the project, as well as spaces for details on the project being submitted.
3. This submission form also indicates that a photograph/image of the project is required at the point of submission, as well as a 50 word blurb about the project, which will be used in the Event Brochure.
