This facility may be innovative in its layout or design, and could now serve as a focal point for many community activities. These may range from justice to child care initiatives, to cultural or environmental projects. They must have impacted upon the community or improved lives of those in the surrounding area. It should highlight what procedures are in place to benefit employees as well as their clients and customers, and should support the local community and it’s economic development. It must be aware of its carbon footprint, be in-balance with nature or recycle and practice green energy measures to name a few. This facility can go across the board from children to older adults. It should provide an environment that has improved the social activities of those in the surrounding areas. It may incorporate scenic views, playground facilities, enhanced landscapes, walkways, or other recreational facilities which may add to the aesthetic, cultural, historical or social value of the park and the surrounding communities. It is aesthetically pleasing and complements the surrounding area. The category also includes facilities provided, sustainability and unique design features incorporated into the building.
